Plants and trees take in CO2 from the atmosphere to help growth. As CO2 levels increase from the burning of fossil fuels, volcano eruptions, ocean water temperature changes, and melting permafrost, plants and trees have been busy growing faster and larger. In fact this fun fact has lead to the re-greening of many non plant areas of the planet. NASA over the last decade has been measuring this effect from satellites in space taking pictures. article

So far, this re-greening has impacted an area twice the size of the continental United States with new plant and tree coverage. This will significantly slow down any climate changes as this new green area growth will absorb quite a lot of future CO2 emissions. This gives Nations more time to make and implement non CO2 energy changes. article

A New Vitamin Reality

  • Let's get right to the main point about the New Vitamin Reality.
  • It is the premise of this website not to disagree with the studies arriving at negative or nil findings, but rather to accept them as natural consequences FOR the vitamin forms and dosages tested. Scientists are simply testing the wrong vitamins and often those with low quality formats, improper dosages at unbalanced nutrient ratios, and incomplete formulas missing vital synergistic vitamin family members. Recent scientific studies, using improved formulas including vital family vitamin forms, are achieving positive results that support a healthier outcome.

  • The incomplete vitamin formulas are missing the family members for Vitamins E and C, plus Carotenoids, and are missing effective forms of some others, such as Folate, vitamin B12, and Vitamin K2. 
MultiVitamin supplements are available in many Brands with a variety of formulas, and a few formulas are simply healthier than most others.
  • Scientific studies usually only test one or two nutrients for research.
  • In the body, nutrients rarely work by themselves, but are part or complex multistep pathways needing many nutrients to function either in tamden or sequentially.

Abstract

Vitamin E consists of eight different variants: α-, β-, γ-, and δ-tocopherols (saturated phytyl tail) and α-, β-, γ-, and δ-tocotrienols (unsaturated phytyl tail). Cancer prevention studies with vitamin E have primarily utilized the variant α-tocopherol. To no avail, a majority of these studies focused on variant α-tocopherol with inconsistent results. However, γ-tocopherol, and more recently δ-tocopherol, have shown greater ability to reduce inflammation, cell proliferation, and tumor burden. Recent results have shown that γ-enriched mixed tocopherols inhibit the development of mammary hyperplasia and tumorigenesis in animal models. In this review, we discuss the possible differences between the variant forms, molecular targets, and cancer-preventive effects of tocopherols. We recommend that a γ-enriched mixture, γ- and δ-tocopherol, but not α-tocopherol, are promising agents for breast cancer prevention and warrant further investigation.

MEANING of this abstract: The US Government Health recommendations are failing to inform the Public about family forms of vitamin E that have breast cancer prevention properties. The US Health agencies only give alpha tocopherol vitamin E status and ignore the other family members of beta, delta, and gamma tocopherols as well as the same four tocotrienols, some of which have cholesterol lowering abilites and offer brain protection. pages pages

Vitamin, Mineral, and Multivitamin Supplementation to Prevent Cardiovascular Disease and Cancer: US Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation Statement

Importance: According to National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data, 52% of surveyed US adults reported using at least 1 dietary supplement in the prior 30 days and 31% reported using a multivitamin-mineral supplement. The most commonly cited reason for using supplements is for overall health and wellness and to fill nutrient gaps in the diet. Cardiovascular disease and cancer are the 2 leading causes of death and combined account for approximately half of all deaths in the US annually. Inflammation and oxidative stress have been shown to have a role in both cardiovascular disease and cancer, and dietary supplements may have anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects.

Objective: To update its 2014 recommendation, the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) commissioned a review of the evidence on the efficacy of supplementation with single nutrients, functionally related nutrient pairs, or multivitamins for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and mortality in the general adult population, as well as the harms of supplementation.

Population: Community-dwelling, nonpregnant adults.

Evidence assessment: The USPSTF concludes with moderate certainty that the harms of beta carotene supplementation (SYNTHETIC FORM) outweigh the benefits for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer. The USPSTF also concludes with moderate certainty that there is no net benefit of supplementation with vitamin E (AGAIN FOR THE SYNTHETIC FORM AS WELL AS THE IOSLATED ALPHA TOCOPHEROL ONLY FORM TOO.) for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer. The USPSTF concludes that the evidence is insufficient to determine the balance of benefits and harms of supplementation with multivitamins for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer (MOST MULTIVITAMINS USE SYNTHETIC BETA CAROTENE AS WELL AS ISOLATED NATURAL VITAMIN E AS ALPHA TOCOPHEROL OR THE SYNTHETIC VITAMIN E FORM) Evidence is lacking and the balance of benefits and harms cannot be determined. The USPSTF concludes that the evidence is insufficient to determine the balance of benefits and harms of supplementation with single or paired nutrients (other than beta carotene and vitamin E) for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer (MULTI-CAROTENOID FORMS ARE NEEDED, AND THE WHOLE FAMILY OF VITAMIN E. Evidence is lacking and the balance of benefits and harms cannot be determined.

Recommendation: The USPSTF recommends against the use of beta carotene or vitamin E supplements for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer. (D recommendation) The USPSTF concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of the use of multivitamin supplements for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer. (I statement) The USPSTF concludes that the current evidence is insufficient to assess the balance of benefits and harms of the use of single- or paired-nutrient supplements (other than beta carotene and vitamin E) for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer. Analysis: What this report says is that the current multi-vitamin forms and dosages, mainly synthetic and or isolated, are simply not the ones necessary to positively impact health. Plus, they are missing the needed synergistic related nutrients to enhance the health benefits of the isolated or synthetic vitamins.

 Why the NEW VITAMIN BLOG?

  • The number of health offerings on the internet is mind-boggling, many millions.
  • But how many are on point for vitamin truths.
  • Are there even set in stone vitamin truths?
  • Actually, very few since even the Professionals do not always agree.

This scenario is the reason this author spent over 50 years in research to discover vitamin usage truths. After reading over 10,000 scientific vitamin research studies, the overwhelming take away is that vitamin supplements are not achieving the expected health benefits.
